It’s been a busy few months here at CFCR. We’ve seen & heard some great musicians who have come by to play live on The Afternoon Buzz.
In late October, Toronto swing/jump blues/jive revivalist Big Rude Jake came by to talk to “Downtown” David Thomson about his solo tour. He also played a couple songs live on the air. One of those tracks, a little number called “Queer For Cat” can be heard below:

November brought great acts to Saskatoon as well, starting with Luke Doucet, who played a two-night engagement at Amigos Cantina. He treated CFCR listeners to a pair of songs live on the air. Listen to “Monkeys” and “You Gotta Get It” below:

Ottawa/Kingston, Ontario singer songwriter Graven dropped in on Friday, November 19th to chat with Alison Whelan about his tour with fellow musician and rekindled pal JD Edwards. He played three songs while he was here, which you can listen to below:

Last but not least for this flurry of live performances is our buddy Michael Rault from Edmonton, AB. He’s got a brand new album called Ma-Me-O, out now on Pirate’s Blend. Michael’s no stranger to CFCR & The Afternoon Buzz, having played live during FM-Phasis 2009. This time around, he was on tour with Bedouin Soundclash and Charlie Winston. He played three songs live on the Buzz, two from the new album and one cover of The Staples Singers. You can listen to them at your leisure below:
