Feb 9, 2017

CFCR is very proud to present FEMFEST! 2017, an International Women's Day Fundraiser. The evening will be a jam packed showcase & celebration of female-identified musicians (and their feminist allies) in the Saskatoon music scene.

Featuring performances by:

We Were Lovers

Dancey beats, swirling atmospheric guitars, and dynamic synths convey a wide array of moods and themes, as strong female vocals wrap stories of love and loss around catchy melodies. Ash Lamothe and Elsa Gebremichael have mastered a pop balance infusing electro, dreamy, rock and disco elements and have an undeniable connection radiates from the stage.

Debbie and the Dirtbags

A brand new rock band featuring some of Saskatoon's finest. Playing a mix of grungey 90s/00s rock covers and catchy originals, their goal is to make the crowd dance & sing along.

Juney Cash

Mother Maybelle's twangy cousins. With members of Saskatoon's Seahags and Quinzee Town covering hits spanning decades. Juney Cash will get your toes tappin.

Ursa

Ambient electronic works that sway between drone and dream. Her first album “Prism System” was self-recorded and mixed in her home studio in the summer of 2016, and mastered by Matt Hutchings at Hidden Sound in Saskatoon. It is a dark, pulsating record that simultaneously emits a wallowing sense of calm. Ursa draws heavy influence from artists such as múm, The Field, College, Kiasmos, Portishead and many more. Ursa is not for everyone.
