If you were in attendance at The Ness Creek Music Festival a few weeks back, you may have been lucky enough to catch Saskatoon's gentlemen of the murder ballad, The Deep Dark Woods, who rocked the CFCR-sponsored Friday night stage. CBC Radio 2 was there recording audio, and you can catch the Woods' Ness set on Canada Live on August 19th.
Tune in to 105.5 FM (in Saskatoon) from 7-8pm to hear the Woods' epic set, which was complete with lightning, thunder and rain. Luckily, they went on early enough that the crowd wasn't too soaked to enjoy the great performance.
Unfortunately, the pounding rain and wind persisted, and the last two bands on Friday night were essentially rained out. Saskatoon's The Fjords only got a couple of songs in before they were chased off the stage by the drenching, wind-blown rain, and things were just too wet for Regina's Library Voices to play at all.
Update: You can also access the Deep Dark Woods recording on CBC's Concerts On Demand website starting on the air date. It'll be available for a whole year, so you've got lots of time to check it out. Just search for 'Deep Dark Woods' and you'll be on your way to finding it.
