Local Saskatoon blues-infused rock duo Father Figures have changed their name to Castle River. The official announcement came as part of the band’s performance for CBC Radio’s concert series On A Cold Road, which took place last Saturday at the Broadway Theatre.

After releasing an EP and playing bucket loads of shows around town under the Father Figures banner, the band decided to change their name on the eve of the fourth installment of On A Cold Road, which will air nationally and online in the coming months. Local music blog Ominocity caught up with Matt & Billy of Castle River shortly after the announcement to get the scoop. Check out their quickie interview here.
