Demonstration Day at SARscene 2026 will be held in Kiwanis Memorial Park, just across the street from the conference host hotel and right along the river in the beautiful Meewasin Valley. This outdoor setting provides the perfect backdrop for a day dedicated to showcasing search and rescue operations, with easy access for both conference delegates and the public to explore and engage.
The day focuses on showcasing land, water, and air SAR capabilities in a hands-on, interactive way. You can expect a range of vehicles, equipment displays, and demonstrations that highlight the tools and techniques used in real searches. It’s also a great opportunity to learn more about prevention and preparedness, with AdventureSmart sharing practical tips on how to stay safe outdoors and avoid needing SAR in the first place, alongside information on programs such as the SARVAC Humanitarian Workforce and Disaster Assistance Response Training. Attendees can also learn about initiatives such as Project Lifesaver, which supports the safe return of individuals prone to wandering. From chatting with SAR responders to picking up useful safety knowledge, Demonstration Day offers something for anyone interested in the outdoors.
