Saskatoon Concert Band – “Homecoming”
“Homecoming” is a celebration of the many years that the Saskatoon Concert Band has been a part of the cultural landscape of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Canada. Our trombone soloist, Ross Ulmer, is a former member of our band and is known throughout Saskatchewan as a solo performer in several genres of music. The concert will showcase the kind of music that it has been a pleasure to perform for our enthusiastic audiences for decades!
Ross will be performing the Andante and Allegro by J.E. Barat, and an arrangement of Swing Low Sweet Chariot by John J. Morrissey. The Overture to Norma by Bellini, Third Suite for Band by Robert Jager, Selections from Annie, Horse and Buggy by Leroy Anderson, RCAF March Past, and more, music that reminds us of who we are, and what we have accomplished with your support. Tickets are $25 general admission, $15.00 for seniors and students, children under eight are admitted free of charge. Tickets are available online and at the box office of the Broadway Theatre.
The Saskatoon Concert Band is Saskatoon’s premiere community concert band. It is an inclusive performance group and has been performing in Saskatoon and area for over 70 years. The group performs a wide range of music; orchestral transcriptions, original wind literature, light classics, marches, and Broadway show tunes.
