Ultimate Power Duo

“[UPD’s] “The Cone of Silence” is the best live song ever written.” - Jay Bentley (Bad Religion)

"Ultimate Power Duo is the best Canadian band I've seen yet!" - Nigel Bennett (The Vibrators)

Since 2001, the Ultimate Power Duo has been steadily pushing the boundaries with genre-defying recordings and energetic, frenzied live shows. Propagating its unique brand of “Demolition Rock” to the masses, founding bandmates-for-life The Riz (Bass / Lead Vocals), Scottrp (Guitar / Vocals), and guest drummers, including longtime member Amber Kraft (AK Double Ak – Radiation Flowers) have performed such notable events as the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the Vans Warped Tour, Canadian Music Week, Western Canada Music Awards, CBC Radio 3, CBC Television, Muchmusic, Telecable 10, Shaw Cable and JunoFest. A staple of the Saskatoon music scene, UPD has also conquered international stages including South By South-West in Austin, Texas, and The Great-Escape Festival in Brighton, England.

UPD creates a high energy rock show that has been described as “the music that would be made if the neo-garage rock of The Hives or Rocket From The Crypt played a game of Chicken with The Minutemen and The Ramones and neither backed down,” (Great Escape Review). Ultimate Power Duo have released four e.p.’s, two full length albums, compilation contributions and are the creators, composers and writers of Ultimate Power Duo Presents The Advetures of Space Joe: Ad Astra a 20 track concept album accompanied by a 90 page graphic novel and the soon to be released follow-up graphic novel / music project Duophenia: Space Joe II.

Violent Betty:

Under the keen direction, style, grace, and in your face delivery of Kenzie Darling, Saskatoon pop-punk-metal sensations Violent Betty have been shredding the line between punk and metal, tearing up Canadian highways, destroying live rooms, and winning fans over across Canada! As continous headliners at the annually sold-out Halloween at Christmas event, and repeated invited perfromers at prestige punk/metal festivals including CEMR Metalfest, and Metalocalypstick Fest., Violent Betty has shared the stage with the likes of Despite the Reverence, Sabotage, Bones to Dust, and Life like Fire. With metal laddean riffs, catchy jams, and punk rock swagger, Violent Betty will power rock your mind into joyful, energizing, live show bliss!
