CFCR ONLINE STREAM GETS QUALITY BOOST!

Dec 17, 2012

CFCR Webcasting PROMO Graphic SIZED 2.jpgIf you listen to CFCR's broadcast online, you may have noticed a marked improvement to the audio quality today. If you haven't checked out our webcast yet, it's a great time to start!

When we upgraded our stream just over a year ago, we fixed a lot of problems we had been having, mostly connected to the reliability of the stream. Since then, pretty much the only time the stream went down was due to a massive power outtage in downtown Saskatoon that left us off the air completely!

However, there was still one thing we wanted out of the new online streaming system: higher quality audio. And now, we're really excited to announce that you can stream our content at a whopping 192 kilobits per second (kbs), which sounds as good or better than the audio coming out of our FM transmitter.

We pay our gratitude to the First Nations and Métis people who have called this ancestral land home for generations, and whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to influence our community. On a foundation of reconciliation, recognition, and respect, CFCR is committed to reaffirming relationships with one another, and to establishing new ones.
