HOMELESSNESS RADIO MARATHON 2017

Feb 21, 2017

The annual Homelessness Radio Marathon returns on February 22nd-23rd, broadcasting stories and information to raise awareness about Homelessness in Canada.

The Marathon began in 1998 in Geneva, New York, and the concept moved north to Canada 15 years ago with CKUT 90.3FM in Montreal as the host station. In recent years, the host station has changed with each installment, with Local 107.3FM in Saint John, New Brunswick taking the lead as host station this year.

Local 107.3 will be broadcasting the Marathon, which will feature a variety of segments produced by campus and community radio stations across Canada, from 7pm Atlantic Time (5pm Saskatoon/CST) until 8:30am AST (6:30am CST). CFCR is proud to once again contribute content to this year's marathon, with our very own Laundry List, Civically Speaking, and Snake Mountain Mixtape airing special segments live on Local 107.3.

CFCR 90.5FM will also be broadcasting the Marathon live, via Local 107.3, from 2:30am (Saskatoon Time) on the night of Tuesday, February 23rd (early morning of Wednesday, Feburary 24th), until 6am. Our regular Overnighter program will be pre-empted on this day.
