VIDEO: BLACK MOUNTAIN UNLEASH ”OLD FANGS”

June 24th, 2010

Vancouver psych-riffers Black Mountain are prepped to release their brand new album Wilderness Heart on September 14th via Jagjaguwar. They’ve already released the first single of the album, “Old Fangs,” a driving, power-swagger rock tune with some deep, gritty organ notes gluing the whole song together.

There’s also a moving picture show to be played in unison with the song, so check it out:

Erin, Amber and Jeremy played acoustic versions of Carta Marina track “Maritimer” and unreleased song “Carve a Path Like a Valley Through the Land,” which was apparently a CFCR-exclusive first public performance!

CARIBOU: JUNE 2 @ AMIGOS

June 4th, 2010

Saskatoon’s masses descended on Amigos Wednesday night for an electronic treat courtesy of UK-via-Ontario electro-master Dan Snaith aka Caribou. The evening started with a solid opening set by Columbia, South Carolina’s Toro Y Moi, who played a mellow yet spirited selection of songs to the sold-out crowd.

As usual, Caribou’s live show didn’t disappoint, with projected technicolour visuals perfectly complementing the meticulously crafted sonic experience.

Check out some photos from the evening below:
