CFCR RADIO SUMMER CAMP 2020!

Jul 2, 2020

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED, THANK YOU TO ALL WHO APPLIED.

The CFCR Radio Summer Camp will be a youth empowerment project focused on skill-building in the realms of Radio, Media, and Podcasting. Participants will be immersed in a creative, supportive online atmosphere where they will learn and be challenged through daily activities. The intended outcome will be for the youth to walk away feeling empowered, with all of the skills to host their own live radio or spoken word program. The final projects produced during camp will hit the airwaves, with downloads available online. Due to COVID-19, we are hosting the camp online via zoom. Youth will be encouraged to remain engaged with the station, and when we are able to onboard new volunteers in person for live studio training, participants will be welcomed to come in person and check us out!

CFCR acknowledges that we broadcast from Treaty 6 Territory, the homeland of the Cree and Métis Nations, and the traditional territories of the Dene, Saulteaux, Dakota, Lakota, and Nakota. We pay our gratitude to the First Nations and Métis people who have called this ancestral land home for generations, and whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to influence our community. On a foundation of reconciliation, recognition, and respect, CFCR is committed to reaffirming relationships with one another, and to establishing new ones.
